I hope they're from Greeley; they'd appreciate the clean air in Hamilton.

Burlington Skyway crash: What you need to know - Latest Hamilton news - CBC Hamilton
Getting into Hamilton from Burlington/Oakville is apparently not overwhelmingly hideous. Getting back again may be more challenging. Depending on where in Hamilton you're coming from, the Beach boulevard to Eastport and the lift bridge doesn't look too hideous, or from the other end try York, around past the Botanical Gardens on Plains Rd, then either up the hill to Waterdown and along Hwy 5, or rejoin the QEW by Ikea. By all accounts the Red Hill and Link parkways and the bottom section of the 403 are absolutely buggered.

I got here ok via York and Bay, I am on Burlington st. Next location is McNab, just around corner, hopefully they won't want to see the third one and all will be good.

My nephew got stuck last night coming back from Niagara going to Brampton, it took him 2 hours to get to the Niagara side of Hamilton, no idea what time he eventually got home.

What a debacle!

Burlington Skyway crash: What you need to know - Latest Hamilton news - CBC Hamilton
Getting out to the US was absolutely fine via Windsor... tiny bit of traffic over the north part of Hamilton, but really nothing notable.

However our drive back yesterday was horrendous. Michigan is one giant construction zone, so we got stuck in ages of traffic, then queued at the border for 2 hours. Was mostly fine by the time we actually made it into Canada... we had advanced warning of the flooding in Burlington, so stayed on the 401 then came south into Oakville instead so that we wouldn't be stuck on the QEW.

The normal drive from Oakville to Ann Arbor is about 4.5 hours including a stop. The drive out there took about 5 hours because of detours around Detroit (omgcrazydriversomgomgomg), but the drive back took 7. Tons of traffic around Detroit (rush hour plus construction), then queued for 2 hours at the border, then the 401 detour. So sleepy today.

At least the Skyway has reopened as of last night. Burlington Skyway reopens, 4 days after truck damaged bridge - Latest Hamilton news - CBC Hamilton

So is there something wrong with coming to Canada as a professional driver?

This individual is hardy representative of the rest of us.
