Default SIM card for a visitor?

We're visiting Canada (Vancouver/Vancouver Island/Yukon) for 3 weeks from Oz and we'd like to know if we can buy a SIM to use while there, mostly data but a few voice calls to confirm accom etc. What's the best option?

You would need to have your phones unlocked before you come. But yes you can buy SIMs. Not sure what the best deal is. Probably similar whichever company you chose.

What DandNHill said is correct...phones will need to be unlocked. You're in for a shock as Canadian cell service is very expensive compared to other countries, but the best deal IMO on a prepaid SIM is Koodo. Unlimited texting to CAN/US/INT'l numbers for $15/mo, then you can add booster add ons for data and talking minutes

More details here: https://www.koodomobile.com/prepaid-...p_PrepaidPlans

As far as I know there is no official way to get the SIM internationally however I did find one on eBay, https://www.ebay.ca/itm/New-Koodo-Re...kAAOSw3ZtaJttr or alternatively shoot me a PM, i'm happy to purchase and mail it to you.

Or you can pop into a Koodo shop when you arrive and grab them if you don't need to have them before you go.

You can also get US add-ons on these SIMs.
