Default Road Trip. Toronto (almost) to Vancouver

We are thinking of doing this trip late in June this year and I'm wondering if any of you have driven it. We plan on keeping in Canada and not spending hours each day driving, 6 to 8 hours max.

Whadya think?

Next year?

I used this tool to plan out potential trips - it allows stopovers, sightseeing etc., and you can set your daily hours driving - might be of use in the planning

Only 6 to 8 hours? If you're heading west you should be able to do 17+ hours a day. I've done that traveling in the US. Going east is a bit more difficult because you keep losing an hour each day which can make you tired.

My daughter did it last year, travelled from Burlington via Las Vegas to Alberta and then back through Canada, she loved Northern Ontario. The return trip they did in a hurry and just stopped one night for a sleep, i wouldn't recommend that though lol

We thought about the train but we'll have a dog with us.

This isn't about getting somewhere fast, it's about the journey. Plus at our age you can't drive for that long even if we wanted to.

No, definitely not! I'm trying to work out how much time we need. Siouxies planner should help there

I just had a look at this. Very good. I'm on my way to AZ on Friday via Toronto and Yosemite NP in northern California. Some useful planning tips in the program. Thanks for the heads-up.

I suspect that you will want to shoot yourself in the head going through Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
