It's more of a state of mind. Plus people in the south have had a history of full employment, decent education, good health and they don't smell because they shower everyday instead of once a week sharing the bath water with all nine family members, their whippet and the neighborhood pit pony.

I must have been here for a while, but when I left England they were still on the old
coinage and a few places still served a pint of ordinary for 1/7d a pint.
