That seems weird to me. In peeling from the stalk, when you get down to the other end that little bit that looks like a bee's stinger comes off so easily.

If you peel from that end, the act of squeezing softens the banana and it stays there hidden by soft bits.

I only peel from the bottom when it resists at the stalk end.

Not sure where this "supposed to" comes from although I have heard it said. The vast majority of images on google shows it like this...


Can't slit it with a finger nail either.

I've seen videos of apes doing that, but, hairy though I am, I am not an ape.
