Does it? The first thought is of the advantages in knowing which conditions you are genetically predisposed to get but after that there's the worry of living with that knowledge. Plus there's the effect on life insurance policies, an increase in cost or even ineligibility.

I once heard Craig Venter in an interview explain that it wasn't until he had his genome sequenced that he realised he needed to start taking statins.
