Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
Living in an apartment with interior hallways and locked front door makes it super difficult to receive parcels.
UPS claims to have tried today but they never buzzed.
The item is 50 pounds so not like I can take it on the scooter hence why I wanted delivery...lol

And of course UPS has to take Monday off so they won't even try to deliver until Tues.
Lazy lazy driver didn't even try to deliver it.
I am ticked off as Tuesday there will not be anyone home so who knows when I'll get it at this point

The problem with that is that many of the items are being manufactured and sold illegally, the poppy, as a symbol of remembrance is in the sole ownership of the UK British Legion and the Canadian Legion, and anything bearing resemblance to them and used as a remembrance symbol is illegal if not sanctioned by them. There are very many companies selling poppy brooches, and the legal ones donate a percentage of their sales to the legion.

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
I just found out that my Grandfather signed up at the start of WW1 at the age of 14 - lying about his age - and served until the war ended.
Here's a picture of him at the end of the war, age 18, with his wife-to-be (my Grandmother).. so young, so much horror to have seen.

They changed the Nutella.

"Fans called the move “underhanded” and “dreadful.” Meanwhile, enough people blamed Brexit for the change that a Mondelez spokesman had to tell the BBC, “This change wasn’t done as a result of Brexit.”

So...
The woman in Iran, taking her new child to visit her parents there on holiday - sounds more convincing than hiking in Afghanistan - and arrested/charged with helping to overthrow government by training journalists....
Why not "remind cabinet ministers the government has no doubt that Nazanin was there on holiday”?
Why "the government's position is..." which sounds sort of contrived, a little like recognition of one thing but they are taking the view it was something else?

Ratcliffe (the husband) said on Monday he had written to the government asking for ministers to be reminded she was in the country on holiday at the time of her arrest.
“I wrote to the Foreign Office and said, listen, can you please remind cabinet ministers the government’s position is that the government has no doubt that Nazanin was there on holiday,” he told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme on Monday.

Exactly... the husband had to send a message to the UK's chief diplomat that it's not a good idea to suggest that the wife was on a subversive mission.
Boris the Buffoon strikes again. Never mind that the poor woman is still in prison, at least he got some attention.

Total embarrassment. What puzzles me is that whenever his colleagues talk about him, there's always a parenthetical reference to him being highly intelligent, yet over many years he hasn't displayed any real evidence of it.

Well, he's Foreign Secretary and a potential Prime Minister, Lord help us all, so he must have some smarts about him. Trouble is, he only seems to deploy those smarts when it benefits him alone. How anyone can think he has the interests of British people at heart is quite beyond me. The man is a self-obsessed liar and cheat.
