Default Puzzle

After my third glass of wine I thought up this little puzzle.

Robert was hurrying to an important meeting and had arrived, he thought he could hear his watch calling to him. The meeting was at eight o'clock, how late was he?

Answers on a postcard please.

Three gods A, B, and C are called, in no particular order, True, False, and Random. True always speaks truly, False always speaks falsely, but whether Random speaks truly or falsely is a completely random matter. Your task is to determine the identities of A, B, and C by asking three yes-no questions; each question must be put to exactly one god. The gods understand English, but will answer all questions in their own language, in which the words for yes and no are da and ja, in some order. You do not know which word means which.

Google provides an answer, but I don't know if there is enough space to show it here

Give us a chance, most of us only think in one dimension, this puzzle is described on Wikipedia as 'The Hardest Logic Puzzle Ever'. I don't even understand the answer...

Haha. You’d better start sharing the drugs Bob.

Digital numbers on his watch which he read as BOB were in fact 808.

8 minutes past 8 and as he should have been there for 8.00 he was 8 minutes late.

I understood the answer although I didn't work it out beforehand.

But it says “he thought he heard his watch calling to him”. If the watch did indeed speak it would have said eight o eight not Bob.
I must be totally missing something. Maybe this is a Monty python type riddle which would definitely go over my head. Lol

I treated that as a figure of speech. Like my dinner or bed is calling me or that item has my name written on it.
