Possibly the dumbest question ever, but....
The missus has this shirt and the tag says that it's machine dryer safe in the US and a couple other countries, but for Canada, is says to line dry it.
What do you do differently with your laundry, or is it a case of someone taking the piss with the labelling?
See, told you it was a dumb question, but it's been bugging me

Washing dries differently at higher latitudes.

It's funny you mention dry it outside as I have NEVER seen anyone use a washing line here in Kamloops. Weird.
We had one like this back in the UK, I miss it.

The line drying that happens around here, well for me, consists of shirt on hanger, hanging off the curtain rail in the side of the kitchen

Maybe whoever made it gave the correct instructions for Canadian laundry, and didn't care if the Americans ruined their garments.

These couple of other countries and the USA check to see if they use the metric system.
If they don't as the US doesn't its probably down to using a Canadian spec dryer which will use the metric system for drying so therefore not compatible and needs to dry by use of a line.

I have a pair of pants and for care it has:
US: Wash cold like colors, warm iron if needed.
Canada: Wash warm like colors, no iron.

It's a "green initiative", encouraging people to save energy by not recommending the use of a dryer but suggesting a green alternative.

When I buy clothing, it goes in the washer and then the dryer.
If it comes out creased, it goes in the charity box.

You got me, laundry labels may as well be in Sanskrit for all I care, but there are Canadian fashion plates out there.

Alternatively it was written by an American who believes all Canadians live in igloos and therefore do not have electricity, leaving line drying as the only option.
