Default Playpen anybody?

Come on in and throw your toys around without scaring off the newbies.

I'll start.

Dratted UK house selling process.
Dratted UK government. (How many different groups are there at the moment with "police-type" authority? How many new ones will be invented over the next month? )
Dratted Canadian government. (Why can't they sort out their immigration process bureaucracy?)
Dratted scumbags/chavs that keep nicking my stuff.
Dratted BBC for dumbing down news coverage and becoming as sensational as the tabloids.
Dratted hot weather for ruining my garden.
Dratted rain for ruining my time off.
Dratted "locals" for all their racist comments.

Or do people just like being unpleasant to each other when the weather gets a bit warm

Where do I start?

I know I'm going over old ground now so just humour me here I still feel a bit sore because we were rejected for being 2 points short and being told "You are not economically viable". How cold is that Both of us have jobs here, my husband is very successful (without a degree I might add, though that's probably obvious 'cos we didn't get in LOL) and has always had to work hard. So say we go to Canada and suddenly because we don't have '2 points' we're not able to make a living? Let me get this right, my husband has a degree, we get in and they probably don't recognise it anyway

As for the UK. Sick of the Government talking hot air and not doing anything to sort out the mess here. They seem more interested in sucking up to Dubya and sorting out other countries?

I love my house, but hate the town (and people) I live in. They are ignorant and local

Awww Crafty, I really feel for you! It isn't BLOODY FAIR! You're exactly right.

Like Steve says - don't give up! (Can you learn french to get them, maybe?) What, if any plans do you have to try again?

That's stupid stupid stupid!

I'm not going to complain about anything for fear of being labelled a whinger .... oh yes I am, I'm fed up with new people starting their first thread with "Help me!!!!!" with lots of exclamation points. For some reason it really annoys me!

This is NOT going to be too helpful but I knew an engineer with many years' experience back in S.A. who, at the time he applied, could not get into Canada. He got his plumber's papers and hey presto! moved to Canada

Thanks everyone Mr Banshee had already tried to get those elusive 2 points by sitting the TEF - twice. To be fair to the CHC they did give him 3 months to sit the TEF, so he did his best over those 12 weeks, swotting until the early hours including weekends. My husband doesn't know French, and it seemed impossible but he really did try his best. As some of you know the TEF is above A Level standard and some of the peeps he met at the exam (who had spoken French for years) said it was really tough. When he failed the first time (which was on the same day as the London tube bombings) he wrote to the CHC and they gave him another chance. He doubled some of his marks compared to the first test, but he was just below the pass mark

We were originally 5 points short but CHC eventually gave me 3 for my post-secondary education after letters going back and forth.

Since getting the final "No" in April of this year hubby discovered that he could apply for a transfer to Canada via his work as they had recently been taken over by a US company. So this is what we have done. Trouble is there's no vacancies in Calgary right now so when he spoke to his HR department recently he said we would consider anywhere in Canada now. The other offices are in Toronto, so we're keeping an eye out for vacancies on the website.

Also, we're off to NS for a holiday/reccie next week and hubby has got a couple of interviews lined up with agencies. He's still working on companies, but they just don't reply You really need to be persistent in this game

Damn people bleeting on and on and on about the minutiae of the material aspects of immigration and wanting and expecting everything to be all nice, safe, risk-free, uncomplicated, easy, hermetically-sealed, smooth, fluffy, clean, crime-free, polite etc…

Damn my irritating, suffocating, unsupportive, undermining, anaesthetized by teevee, immature, dysfunctional family (except my dad!).

Damn TV! Kill your TV! (In 9 more days I will have gone a year without watching! Do I miss it? Not one bit…. and it made me see how time-consuming and utterly pointless it is. There are far more interesting ways to waste your life away!)

Damn Mr and Mrs Breederson.

Damn decision making.

Damn shoulder injury.

Damn my neighbours that continuously leave out 6+ bags of rubbish from their materistic, consumer-driven little, puny lives. Damn their three whining, snivelling, snot-nosed putrid and very ugly little crotch fruits. I generally like kids (from a distance) but these crib lizards just irritate the crap out of me for some reason. If I was a kid and knew them I'd probably kick them all in the shins really, really hard.

Damn my best girlfriend who doesn't see how great she is and is not living her life because of that.

Damn another best girlfriend for moving to Australia and being so far away.

Damn friend, stuck in a marriage he hates. One day I'm going to beat the crap out of his Rottweileresque abusive bitchy shallow wife. That sounds very hypocritical, so what?

Damn, I need my teeth cleaned.

Damn, I still think about seeing a dog get hit by a car when I was eight.

Damn the amount of arrogance I read and see around me.

Damn racism, classism, sexism, etc…

Damn that phucking idiot in the gym who felt he needed to warned me that weight lifting would make me sterile (yeah, I wish!). Like my fertility is any of his business, nevermind the amount of misinformation in his thinking. Honestly, I think he was just highly insecure about the fact that I could bench press a lot more than him.

Damn people who say there is no history in North America: arrogant, ignorant and White-washed.

Damn I miss my cat.

Damn those starlings for eating my pea plants.

Damn my bad hearing.

Damn my need for independence and freedom.

Damn pennies. I have jars and jars and jars of them and don’t know what to do with them except put them in jars.

Damn, I want to be an NHL goalie for one game.

Damn nasal passages. Between arid heatwave weather and allegies (or a cold? I didn't think I was allergic to stuff) they're hurting.

Damn lesbians! I'm not gay! Leave me alone! lol..

Damn it! I left a Beach Boys CD in my Calgary hotel ('Little Deuce Coupe' is strangely inspiring to me).

Damn! One of my stocks is tanking, big time! Damn that I care.

Damn the cosmetics-Nazi-counter-bitch in Boots who called my freckles "sun damage". ***** off! I love my freckles! I love my wrinkles too! Phuckin' skanky L'oreal-borg-whore!

Damn I want to go up in a hot-air balloon.

Damn I wish more people cared about the balance between their taking from and giving back to the environment.

Damn I am horny.

Damn I hate hot weather.

Damn I've just noticed my 'Mega B 100' vitamins smell like a cat's litterbox.

Damn I hate waiting.

Damn this bra is working me today.

Damn I hate it when people litter.

Damn the Three Gorges Dam.

Damn I love people who make me laugh.

Damn I miss some people.

Damn I always mess up relationships.

Damn I hate ham
Damn I hate lamb
Damn lucky for me
I love roasted yam

Ok… I'm slipping into poetry, that's enough but aaaaahhhhhh..... I feel much better now.
