valerian and the city of a thousand planets... or something like that, luc besson directed(leon, fifth element and many others), based off of a french comic book series.. I quite liked it, some of the script is not great but overall I thought it was pretty good, hasnt done well at the box office though, so probably no sequel :S

Watched Alien Covenant tonight. Highly predictable but not bad. Horrible bloody things!

Enjoyable enough, but I thought Stand Up Guys (also with Alan Arkin) was better.

It's a ling time since I was so blown away by a movie but Michael Caine, Harvey Keitel and Rachel Weisz in Youth.

Some surreal moments. Lovey Swiss scenery. Effective music.
Best of all, some Acting.

Best not to read what it's about, just let it flow and be amazed. Stunning.

2015 was a good year for movies I reckon. As well as Youth there was Burn Burn Burn, albeit released last year.
Following the death of their friend, two girls in their late twenties embark on a road trip to spread his ashes. Seph and Alex take turns driving. Dan is in the glove compartment, in tupperware, decreasing in volume as the trip progresses.
Several funny moments, touching and there wasn't a dry in the house - not where I was anyway as I was the only one watching.

Criminal that I hadn't heard of either movie until about three days ago.

Well, three brilliant movies in a row. I'm on a roll.

Classic quirky stuff and not what I expected at all.

War Machine with Brad Pitt playing a gruff general. Amusing satire.

On Netflix.

Our weekend movie watch on the big screen was Annabelle:, rated it 8/10

Previous week we saw 'Dark Tower', was a total disappointment 6/10.

This week we've watched The Founder (about McDonald's - oddly entertaining) and The Saint, which was a brilliant romp - lovely having Roger Moore cameo at the end...just good nonsensical summer fun!

And, of course, the other Saint, Ian Ogilvy with more than a cameo.

When I watched War Machine, I just thought I was watching an older Brad Pitt but then I saw Allied and he got young again.
