Certainly Star Trek was probably the first to use TNG, but others have too. There's even a Degrassi: The Next Generation.

So I nicked it for this thread.

I watched a couple of films on netflix recently.

The Counseller
What I expected: An exciting film about drug deals gone wrong.
What I got: 2 hours of ridley scott wanking over cameran diaz.
Rating: Shit.

American Sniper
What I expected: Annoyingly shitty US military glorification.
What I got: Brilliantly shitty US military glorification and a plastic baby.
Rating: Great.

A colleague said, the dramatic license notwithstanding, it was a reasonably accurate portrayal of the action. Apparently Kilo Two Bravo (I think is on Netflix) was even more so, but from a British perspective and in Afghanistan.

Always good to see a realistic portrayal.

And most stayed on.
That was what I said at the time. From memory, like or enjoy don't seem appropriate expressions.

I didn't think I was I going to to like it because all the talk last year was about how it was nothing but propaganda. Well, yeah it sort of is, but it's very engaging (this is the word you are looking for bristol) propaganda.

I'd already added kilo two bravo to my netflix list, but not got round to watching it yet. Will watch it this week.

T2 Trainspotting, which is out in a few weeks. The original Trainspotting is still an all time favourite, even though I feel like I need a shower after watching it.

Life looks to be pretty decent too. Out in the summer.

The Girl on the Train
So a few reviewers on the Maple Leaf didn't like it and it was the same in The Lounge.

Tonight I started to watch it. I half had a review in my head about how I was determined to like it but then, like everyone else, thought it was rubbish.

Well I thought it was really good. After about 20-30 minutes I thought I'd probably split it in two and finish tomorrow night but half way through I thought sod it, I'll stick with it and it and it flew by.

I did a bit of googling to see potential differences to the book and there appear to be quite a few.

So if Beckiwoo is still interested, see it.

Books are generally the better version of course.

moved to here

last weekend with a cineplex gift card from the kids we saw 'Split' & give it 9.5/10

We now take our own popcorn (3 bags for $1) to the movies, one bag microwave popped before we leave, then put the topping on it when we get there. Why pay $8 or so.

Later today we're going to see 'Gold'
