Malware, any ideas?

Seem to have some kind of bug/malware on my Android phone. Somehow, it only pops up when I am checking BE. It's usually a message along the lines of "Your phone (and identifies the brand/model) is 28% infected with a serious virus and you need to install this software now". It's dressed up as a Google alert, but it's come in various guises so is obviously malware.

I have a an Anti Virus app on the phone, which is supposed to protect, and even when I run it it doesn't seem to pick anything up. I've tried uninstalling Chrome and re-installing Chrome, but it comes back. Not all the time, it will bug me for a few days and then disappear for weeks. And only on BE.

Anybody else encounter this? Any ideas on how to fix it?

or maybe
Reset the phone to factory.

Thanks. Don't want to do a factory reset (except as a last resort).

Link seems to suggest more malware apps, but I will look into it some more. I just thought my Anti-virus software should already have detected it.

There's a thread in the Lounge about this. Seems to be a BE problem. http://britishexpats.com/forum/loung...acking-907280/

Thanks. Will check it. The problem does seem to have something to do with the BE site.
