Hmmmm....discrimination on so many levels. Mennonites and Germans have lived in close proximity for years i.e. St Jacobs and Kitchener / Waterloo once known as Berlin

I wonder if they still close King street for a whole week during Oktoberfest? Such a thing won't fly in Toronto. I guess they get away with it because most of the upper eschelon in KW id German e.g the Zehrs family that owns the grocery stores

I haven't checked it word-for-word for edits but that is the same piece that was in the MoFo paper, yes.

A draft of my previous post included "the most head pattingly condescending piece I've read this week (and I saw a copy of the Globe and Mail in the lunchroom)". So I'm delighted to see that the Globe picked it up.
