Earlier today and out of curiosity, I looked at the cost of a room at the hotel I saw $800 for one night. Not cheap.

right wing blogs, claiming the shooter was an anti-Trump liberal
Facebook and Google promote politicized fake news about Las Vegas shooter

some on the far right falsely identified the man behind the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history as Geary Danley. It’s unclear where exactly the hoax originated, but rightwing users aggressively promoted his name, seizing on evidence that he was a liberal.

Yes well the media should watch this before saying too much about him...happens every time.

Well, at least Trump can claim it was the biggest mass killing ever. Yuge.

Eric Paddock, who lives in Orlando, learned of his brother’s involvement...“We are completely dumbfounded. We can’t understand what happened,” he told the Orlando Sentinel. Speaking to a CBS reporter, he described his brother as “not an avid gun guy at all”, although he added that Stephen may have owned several handguns.
Part of the problem?

In what world is someone (with no military connection, not a collector etc) owning several guns not a gun guy?

You can usually pay less than half that or its dirt cheap in a package deal.

I imagine you can pay less, as with anywhere, but by way of comparison, the various Hiltons in lost wages - including one on the strip - have comparable rooms for $110-$200.

Victim list coming out now. Young happy people including one Albertan woman. So senseless.

Initially so shocked by the amount of people killed, the horror of it all and then just this dull oh well feeling..

what's that phrase you live by the sword you die by the sword...

Doesn't America deserve it?

I don't consider it a place I even want to visit anymore.

I was similar. The only shock was it was the biggest but after all was said and done we are simply just waiting for the next mass shooting. If you change nothing then nothing changes.

Unfortunately those opposed to gun's in America are like the 48% opposed to Brexit. Stuck in the firing line of stupidity.

The ruling elite most probably deserve it, but I think the regular American citizen definitely doesn't. They like the rest of us feel the pain from the selfish activities and unending greed of the super rich and influential.

I won't be surprised if hotels in Vegas bring in x-ray devices and metal detectors to start screening people coming into the building.

Theme parks in the US already screen guests, so why not major resorts such as in Vegas?

Seems police also found Ammonium Nitrate in the shooters car.

That's a bit pointless when the law says you can freely walk around a Hotel or Casino with a gun; aka 'open carry'.

Can you open carry on the Strip or Downtown Las Vegas/Reno?
Yes. Casinos will likely ask you to leave or disarm if you are discovered carrying, but the only penalty is trespassing if you refuse to comply. Open carry is legal and police/security cannot stop it on public roads/sidewalks. Southern Nevada/Las Vegas Open Carry members have carried openly en masse several times in both Downtown and on the Strip.
