Jingle Bells

Re: Jingle Bells
Not too festive on BE this year. Planning to put some outdoor lights up this week as have noticed a couple of other houses now have theirs on. Tree still ten days away. Will give Xmas cards a miss again (mostly). Prezzies in process.

Re: Jingle Bells
Mother in law cleared a space for our xmas tree.
We thought about having a holiday tree but, no, we're having a real (fake) xmas tree.

Re: Jingle Bells
Feeling a bit Grinch-ish this year, I'll probably repeat last year's volunteer stint at shelter/synagogue/church events.
The offspring will be scattered; main December event will be youngest's 18th birthday shindig a week before Christmas, organised by her dad & stepmum. I think that will be more than enough festive cheer for me .
I usually sling up a couple of strands of festive lights on the veranda/balcony, but as builders half-demolished it Monday then vanished, that's not going to happen ...

Re: Jingle Bells
probably got " lost in translation"
Original premise was replacing windows & reinforcing ceiling (of my veranda)/floor (of upstairs neighbours' veranda). I DID have doubts about how well/fast this was going to go, voiced my concerns, & was told to mmob.
Just feeling a bit bolshy as after Monday's debacle (most of upstairs veranda fell down into mine as soon as work started) I was told they would be back at 7 am yesterday to continue (they didn't show), and then to expect them 7 am this morning. I'm still waiting....
Access to veranda is through my bedroom.
(My landlords and property manager *are* being as helpful as they can in the circumstances).

Re: Jingle Bells
Off to cut down a Christmas tree on Sunday.
OH has done the Chevy Chase impersonation - we put up a few lights outside on the trees. We may need to add more as we fear neighbour intervention (as the whole neighbourhood go full out bonkers on the Christmas lights competition)
