Yup a good excuse by the oil companies in raising gas prices in Canada by 8 cents a litre last week. Or was that because the wind had changed direction last week as well. How many barrels of oil does Canada get from Iraqi sources?

Even if Canada was to get oil from Iraq.. Surely the oil bought at increased prices would still be on a ship somewhere. The oil purchased for our gas at the pump now was bought at what price?

Makes sense for transit and transport companies to be switching to CNG.

Don't need to even import oil from Iraq for something there to affect prices here since oil prices are set on the international market.

I can't find specifically where Canada's imports come from, but if your in a western province domestic oil is used and refined making the west self sufficient, and the rest is exported mostly to the US.

Ontario gets a mix of domestic and imports.

Quebec and east due to transportation costs and logistics, use mostly imported oil.

This info was provided by the government.

Gas prices are hilariously varied in AB

I was in Leduc last week, 1.12/lt

Red Deer was 1.16/lt

Calgary was 1.27/lt, and thats only 3 stops on a 300km straight road

Same in BC, depending where you are can vary 20 cents and probable more depending where you are. Vancouver generally being the priciest, running 1.50+ with some places 1.57, probably hit 1.60 within a 1-2 weeks.

1.52 where I am. Luckily we have cut our driving back significantly so not really paying more in total, higher it goes, the less we go out, no more summer road trips in Canada for us.

I thought that Western intervention in the Middle East was all about oil prices.

Or was it a new Christian/Muslim crusade?

I sometimes confuse the two.

Same thing, oil prices and interests masked as a humanitarian crusade.

When I see images of war, death, destruction I don't immediately think of how much more it will cost to fill the car. Not even sure I think of it at all
