That's an improvement, it's "always listening", but it just means it can be activated with voice at any point without pressing the button. I also think that feature depends on which model of phone you have as it requires 'always listening' to be on, which can be a battery drain. So while the 6 and 6+ will have it, I'm not certain older models will, so that needs to be investigated.

The previous point I made about it not doing much once you've launched an app still stands with iOS8.
