Seems there have been a couple cases now where having someone in the flight desk would have saved some lives.
On the other hand, wasn't there some scandal last year when an airline pilot let the flight attendant fly the plane when the captain was out in the bathroom?

There at his house now removing computers and other personal items. Maybe they can find a reason for this there, or maybe not.

If they can find the second BB then that may give a better idea of what he did in the cockpit alone rather than just speculation

This reminds me of that novel "the pilots wife". I feel for his family

I am not sure about this, when we were over in jan/feb, US news was reporting a Delta flight? with a pilot locked out the cockpit

Nothing. Only questions are about any conditions the patient wants to disclose.
Any flight crew being treated for depression or other mental disorder and taking drugs for same, may affect ones medical if they disclose it, if no treatment is being given or it is not disclosed, no way to tell.

Medical is a physical exam, plus sight, hearing and ECG. Under 40 every 12 months, over 40 every 6 months for a class 1.

The aircraft in this incident was descending at something like 4000 feet a minute, over twice the norm, that is no gentle decent. It would be hard to believe the pax knew nothing about the problem until just before the impact.

Too much speculation without facts. The CVR has been found, if the FDR survived the crash this will give tech info, as may any ATC recordings.

A “rule of two” is routine among US carriers.

Air Transat have now advised the change now to 2 at all times

And PAX at least at my carrier once on the plane ceased to be passengers and referred to as Souls on Board since not all on board are passengers (crew, lap babies, jump seaters etc.)

Freaked a few people out sometimes when they would heard me or the other ops people telling the lead flight attendant how many souls were supposed to be on board.

So CNN are convinced that he crashed the plane purposely. The initial facts and the way the plane is designed to fly and the way the door locks appear to strengthen this assumption.

Gee now I suppose its just a case of "WHY" ???

Comedy News Network doesn't know it's elbow from it's arsehole, so I'd take anything they say with an entire bag of salt. If someone told them the sun was pink they'd believe it.

Yes, but that's the story on all MAJOR news channels now.
