Re: Gender Pronouns
I was also forced into Latin at high school
Both of my Latin teachers wrote on my school report that I had "a lively mind"

Hoi polloi represented here. I thought Latin was something I read about in books, Waugh and such, until we come to Canada and one of the polyglot children took it. Perhaps it's unfortunate that the one who took Latin isn't the one who now lives in Italian, knowing some Latin might have done that one a good turn.

I did Latin at school for a year, I really quite liked it. I was once able to have a conversation with a taxi driver in Rome based primarily on my sketchy memory of Latin.

This might just be me, but I found that a knowledge of Latin and its very different linguistic structure, to be a great help in mastering coding in many computer programming languages later in life.

Shit, I've just typed a long and er, thrilling, reply but my iPad barfed and lost it. I might retype it later.

Having done a bit of Googling, there's some rather splendid cuss words and phrases in latin.
