)Took me three years before I could utter the "H" word in public and even now I get "You're wearing your ring!". I lost it for a few years and only found it when moving.
People have even given up asking me when I'm going to have babies now. More or less.
Saying that, I am very happily married, just all the expectations and assumptions that went with it. Even my mother gets my name wrong as a protest about me not changing my name - but she got my married name wrong too so it sort of failed.
