Default Teenagers

Is it always like this...?

Mother's Day: From hero to 'beg-friend' - BBC News

A few months into the teens and it seems to be going that way...

My wife posted me that link this morning, based on a conversation we'd had about our two just the day before . But, Mother's Day today, she was brought a cup of tea in bed, given some gifts and then had a lovely day with the teenage daughter.

Our eldest lad will be going off to Uni in September (provided he actually does some of the studying for his A-levels that he pretends to be doing) and the daughter will be off to 6th form college. Hard to believe that the 'empty nest' stage of life is almost upon us.

Still, at least we're confident that they're only obnoxious to us... everyone else outside the house says what pleasant young adults they are, so we'll take that as a win on our parenting skills!

When your children are teenagers, it's important to have a dog so that someone in the house is happy to see you.
