Cinema - a pretty picture of us Easterners!
If you fancy a pleasant, non offensive, non scary visit to the cinema....go to the The Grand Seduction. It's about a small fishing community not far from St. John's, NL and their efforts to get a doctor and revive their economy. It's a visual feast (you may actually want to come this way). Normally I avoid Canadian made films like the plague, but this is well worth a visit, and I can't recommend it more highly. Great fun, and it maybe made me think a little more deeply about some of the challenges I have tended to take for granted.

My wife laughed somewhat excessively at it. Took the parents to see it when they were visiting and they liked it too.
With some very slight modifications I think I could pull off a NF accent easily enough.

My son now does three 'different' accents! One where he's being NF, one as a French Québécois and one as in Acadian French...as well as the sort of funky French/English (with a long 'a', as in laast, paath and baath) Canadian mix we seem to have doomed the poor little devil with it's very funny and a bit odd.
