BA Gatwick to Toronto 2018.
This marks the first time British Airways is offering a route to Canada from Gatwick, although it already offers flights to Toronto from its London Heathrow base.
The new route is set to take off in May 2018, and will feature three flights per week to give passengers plenty of flexibility for travel dates.
As for the fares, return flights from Gatwick will start from £453 - and they're already available to book on the British Airways website here .

That's good news for us as my mother hates Heathrow. Thanks for the info

Looks like there's a chance that these flights will be 777s with 3-4-3 seating in economy. Hope you don't value your elbows especially if you end up with an aisle seat.

I'd take a 777 3-4-3 economy seat every time over the A330 POS that now is the only way to get from CLT to London directly, and over an economy seat in a 747 under all circumstances.

I never know the type of plane I've flown on, no more than the brand of the airport shuttle bus. They all have room for my bum. Accordingly, I get to Gatwick on Air Transat, I expect I shall continue to do so unless BA is significantly cheaper or throws in airport parking.
