Amazon Lost Orders
Hi,
I don't use Amazon a great deal, but I ordered 2 pairs of boots in January from two different Amazon sellers, and neither were delivered.
Has this been a common experience for people using Amazon?
I followed the process of contacting the seller, and neither could be reached by Amazon. I've now submitted a claim and had one pair refunded and the other is in process.
It's put me off using them again. Could just be a fluke that I missed out on two orders at the same time!

Buying online in Canada is very hit and miss even if you live in larger city. If you live in Bum**** Nowhere it's certainly not worth the effort.

Never had a problem. I once ordered some clotted cream hoping it would arrive but expecting it not to get through. It didn't.
Got a refund easily. I've always ordered with total confidence whether it be Amazon or the sellers.

Canada Post seem to be very hit and miss at the moment. Round our area, Posties are putting parcels in the wrong boxes regularly.
Were the Amazon sellers ACTUALLY sending from Canada, or were they overseas?
For the last 6 months or so, everything that has come to me from overseas via Canada Post has taken AT LEAST 2 weeks longer than the 'advertised' delivery time.

3rd party sellers can be iffy on Amazon.
I just stick to shipped and sold by Amazon or sold by Xzy but fulfilled by Amazon.
Shipped and sold by a 3rd party, I avoid at all costs.

I check sellers feedback before buying.
Not the manufacturer or product review, the sellers review.

This. Amazon is becoming more like Ebay with third party sellers. Being an informed consumer is key!

Re: Amazon Lost Orders
We've been a bit hit and miss actually. I don't like ordering things off the Internet here because I have zero hope of them arriving...but they frequently do, I am told! My husband buys all sorts of odd car parts and he tells me they come! I wouldn't trust it with a barge pole, and I was a big online shopper before in Europe.
I used to order things on line in Europe and they would wake me up in the morning delivering it! Here I have waited three weeks got something/anything ....but I'm told they do come...eventually...!
Very best of love....

For those who find it risky, things don't turn up or whatever, is there something in particular that's less likely to arrive?
In early years here (2005-2010ish) we bought many used VHS tapes/DVDs (US system) and all arrived. I think there was one with a problem and it was replaced without having to return the original.
We've bought many used books, brand new CDs (yes, I know ) from a variety of sellers with not one problem and the books are often in better condition than suggested.
I've ordered computer RAM a few times. One stick didn't work, it was replaced without returning the original and it turned out it did work after all, it was one of those situations where it had to be 'matching' RAM.
I've ordered an air filter/smoke remover thing for the duplex when a tenant complained of other tenants smoking. E-reader, earphones, hot/cold therapy wrap, various computer bits including keyboards, Marmalade....bloody hell, I should get a loyalty bonus.
Although apparently I didn't buy anything in 2010

I ordered a gaming chair for my son for his birthday from Amazon (Canada) at 4pm and it was delivered the next morning!
I have ordered quite a few things through both Amazon.ca and Amazon.com - apart from one item that took much longer than it was supposed to, I've been very lucky as everything has arrived in a timely fashion.
Walmart, however, I've had all sorts of issues with.

Re: Amazon Lost Orders
I have an online business and we ship to all provinces and all towns via Purolator and Canada Post. We tried Amazon but is was so expensive yo sell on, we cancelled our contract but still to this day 2 years later we get orders that we can't fulfil through them.
I write emails to the customers to explain what has happened but Amazon is not very forthcoming with help.
Please don't give online shopping a bad name because of Amazon, we are an extremely nice bunch and we ( I mean me ) will ship any where in Canada...

BS. I can't actually be arsed to justify myself in detail but know your statement is just wrong. Suffice to say that a large proportion of our non food purchases are done online with generally no problems. Sometimes I think that you say things just to bait someone into a response.
You probably don't need to buy online living in Vancouver. A lot of others don't have access to the stores that you do and so have no option but to buy online- one just needs to choose the best websites, similar to when we online shopped in the UK.

This is just an example of a grasping aspirational-class immigrant apologist, that by chance, got their power bank they ordered online in less than three weeks.
