Simple pleasures: e-books, actual books, audio books, wine and chocolate. I dread to think how much I spend.

Ah, guilty pleasures splurging.
Last year:
New car - I did actually need a car, full stop, and given it being around the time of a large number birthday, and a few other factors, I treated myself.
Xbox One and new AV Receiver. Yes, a tech geek, and yes, it was purchased in anticipation of GTA V, though Forza 5 came with it, and I do enjoy a bit of video game racing too.
iPhone 6 Plus. I had said I'd not replace my 5S for a few years, but the caveat was if Apple released a larger display, I'd get it, simply as they won't go even larger than that.
This year:
5k Retina iMac. Logical reason; graphics card is failing on the current / now old, machine. replacement would be $500 +, and no guarantee it would not fail again, thus meaning more expenditure. It made sense to get a new machine, with all the current bells and whistles, for a little bit of future proofing.
Nothing else splurge-worthy really planned, perhaps a warm holiday somewhere.
Oh and yes, I am a bit of an Apple geek, lifetime member of the cult, but No, I don't want an Apple Watch. The health aspects don't appeal, and I have a perfectly nice watch. I do like them, just no desire for one.

Nothing much recently tbh...
normally i spend silly money on car parts, but i sold both my vehicles last September in order to share the girlfriends vehicle and get deposit money together for a house
once the house purchase is made, i'll get myself another car to spend cash on

Oh, I've been on the slippery slope that is car modifying (stupid loud exhausts, wheels, porsche brakes, dump valves, quad headlights, etc...) and I refuse to go down that path again.

Re: $2,000 and counting - guilty pleasures
I have never been into buying things for the most part, but back in the day my guilty pleasure were my aquariums, I forked over so much money to them, way more then I should have.
This was 7 or 8 years ago now, I was just split from my ex, worked 12-13 hours per day, 6 days a week, so the aquariums were my guilty pleasure.

Stupid loud exhausts aren't my thing...too quiet...i prefer mega-ear-death exhausts, this was my first Civic on the rolling road: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzvCFrzFA_k
I will go down that path again, and hope to lead my kids down it too

Musicals. Something so fun about going to the theatre. I do miss the sheer selection in London, but Toronto gets excellent shows just on more of a rotation, so I'm not too sad. It means I go see things a bit more often, actually. I went to see Wicked in the fall last year (6th time, so just got the cheapy seats)... then I saw Once in February, and I'm going to see Kinky Boots in June. There are a few shows coming in the next year or so as well that I'm looking forward to going to see. I'm going to have a look at what's playing in London when we are back there at Christmas, might try to see something that isn't slated to get to Toronto at any point soon. Cats and Miss Saigon come to mind, but I'll have to see if they're still on in December.
Otherwise I get a shellac manicure every 3ish weeks for $35 incl tax and tip... which really is more of a guilty pleasure... plus the occasional pedicure for another $25.
And then maybe 3-4 times a year I'll go for a massage, but that's about 95% covered between my work benefits and my husband's, so very little out of pocket there at least.

Cameras, lenses, computer stuff.
Had an iPad didn't care for it, got an Android tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab S), really it's not that much different except it does have a built in GPS receiver that comes in handy for free off-line nav apps.
Looking at a new car this year at some point, it's between a Toyota Camry Hybrid or a Honda Accord Hybrid haven't decided yet.

I'm a Honda fanboy...had about £10,000 sunk into my first Civic (1999 Coupe with a 2.2 VTEC from a Prelude) and the better part of £20,000 sunk into my second Civic (Supercharged 2005 Type-R)

thankfully I didn't spent too much, think the £1700 Porsche brakes were the most (GT3 callipers and pads, 911 Turbo discs) expensive item.
I ended up having a 3" BMP Twin dump downpipe into a Blitz Nur Spec R, with bung removed. Stupid loud, but so much fun.

Not apple necessarily (tried MacBook once, hated the OS, although I usually go and get the latest iPhone because i'm into that) but technology in general, gadgets... I'm always tinkering. (and posting on BE while i'm waiting for things to complete )

Mine is books, lots of books and trips, I love trips.
Husbands funnily enough is a little more spendy, being cars, lots of cars, but it's just another form of savings lol. He also buys model cars - lots of those too - boxes upon boxes of the things, but that is no different from my books lol

If I had money and space, I'd collect vintage vending machines. Pre-1970's. I just like those old machines.
Would probably collect all sorts of old things from the past.
