Moving to Gozo, duty on furniture/electrical goods
Hey
Looking to move to Gozo in the next few months, from Ireland. I think I've fathomed what I need to do to get the car over, but just have a few questions about importing a few bits of furniture and personal effects.
I noticed something on the government website about duty on electrical goods and furniture. I have a vacuum cleaner, small tumble dryer and some small heaters, and a small sofa. I only got them within the last few months, and paid quite a bit for them, so would like to take them, if feasible. I just wondered if these would be subject to duty, even though they are used, over 6 months old, and being transferred from another EU country? I've found most things on the Maltese government website refreshingly clear and transparent, but I wasn't 100% clear on this.
I also wanted to check, when applying for residency, is it still necessary to go down to Valetta, or can this now all be done in Gozo?
Thanks in advance
Kieran
