I hear that big changes are about to be introduced regarding applications for residency in Malta making residency permits/certificates much harder to obtain, could be as early as next year. I will post any changes as they become apparent.

Malta is a place of interest for us so any changes to residentual requirements will be welcome.
Surely not much can change to legally prohibit EU nationals. Are there many full time foreigners retired or living there?

some tightening in SPain over on that forum - seems you have the right to travel to other EU countries and stay for up to 90 days but actual residence is not necessarily a right and individual governments can introduce things such as a minimum income so you might find yourself needing to leave every three months and come back the next day

Hi there maltaman and british bull, any news on changes to get residency in Malta that you have heard about? Have they made it harder for people to get like they have in Spain?

Hi Purpleflower, there have been been changes to the permanent residency applications, ordinary residence is virtually untouched and probably the easiest and best route.
