BANKING IN MALTA
We have just about managed to open an account with HSBC in joint names and will also keep our accounts in UK open due to pensions and rent being paid into our respective UK accounts. My question is should we have sterling account£ and a Euro account here in Malta due to the fluctuation in Euro which as you know makes a difference to your monthly rent you have to pay in Malta?
Thanks

Re: BANKING IN MALTA
We opened a sterling account here but only used it to buy a property as the exchange rates are not that good via the banks, we decided it better to keep the bulk in the UK accounts and transfer as and when the rates are good, we arranged to have our UK pensions paid direct into the BOV Euro account here to keep the wolf from the door so the transfer rate varies but like everyone else you learn to cope.
