Question Advice Please: car leasing/ buying

Hi Everyone,
My name is Nikki and I have just moved here from London to work on the new 20th Century Fox World park in Genting Highlands.
Company has provided accommodation up in Genting but it is proving too shut off for me and I am looking to move down to KLCC, as many other expat staff have already done.
However as I am struggling with the travel situation, realising that I would ideally need a car. My relocation package is lower than my colleagues as I am not on the same management level and I am also on a shorter term contract so I am not sure if I want to purchase a car as they have done.
In the UK and US car leasing is a big thing, but research here is only showing me long term car rentals which for a year is really expensive.. Is there a car leasing scheme here?
Any advice, insight from anyone would be really helpful.
Thanks in advance...
Nikki

Hi Nikki,

I haven't come across short term lease options here. There are 'unofficial' rental places. Not big brands or companies, but they rent out their cars on an agreed rate. Not sure what happens if a dispute or accident occurs though.

Also, have you seen the SOCAR app? If mainly commuting, it may be an option...
