I for one am ecstatic now that Gerrard has confirmed Liverpool will likely make it into the CL this year. Presumably he's concluded this now that Joe "anything Messi can do Joe can do, if not better" Cole is fit again.

Aim for the stars, and if you fall short you still might get to the moon

Positive thinking is a prerequisite for any top sportsman, although it does sound deluded to us more pragmatic types, or anyone paying attention to the number of stupid goals we are shipping

This poll is fatally flawed as it doesn't have a "Who is Steven Gerrard" vote button

But they did get a good win against Norwich, so you know the five games before that don't count. If only Liverpool could play Norwich every week, then he might be right.

Gerard is a great player, an inspirational player, but I don't recall Liverpool being close to winning the premiership while he has played for them apart from about 3 years ago when they deserved to win it, but Man u pipped them, which has been mentioned, unless they have come second to Chelsea, but I don't recall that, I am sure someone will say. Liverpool are a very long way from winning the premiership and it's looking likely they will eclipse Man utd's 26 year drought, which will crease the fans.
