I smiled when Villa went down.

Seems the boys are back on form.

I usually like watching games, but the Bears aren't any better than the '9ers these days (actually they're equally as bad, both are 1-6). I don't mind spending a Sunday afternoon watching other games though, if I have nothing else to do or watch. It's part of fall for me, I've sort of grown to like it.

But it's all World Series in our house this year. Sod the Bears, the Cubs are where it's at now

The 9ers have just been ranked the worst team in any American franchise, not just football LOL.

Did they forget about the Browns?

Though we lost to the bloody Jaguars this year so we're not far behind.

The irritating Daily Mail Brit douchebaggery quotient of this thread is strong. You sound like goateed Midwestern Americans discussing "soccer". Oh the irony.

Don't bother pal, wasting your time.

This one is a Yank who comes on here and takes offence if any Brit even dares to criticise or 'misunderstand' ANYTHING related to the good ol' U S of A (the Greatest Country In The History of The World (copyright), don't ya know....?? ).

I guess I shouldn't admit to having a passing interest in the Redskins, in case he supports the Cowboys...

Location says Chicago, so one would hope it would be the Bears (shit as they are these days).

More salt than the Dead Sea in that post, though. Wow.

Yeah, that's me: a Trumpified "America is the GREATEST!" bigot. You know me well.

This forum generally delights in portraying "Yanks" as small minded and parochial when it's rife with small minded and parochial threads. There's also a heavy dose of "intruder Yanks **** off" here. American protestations of generalizations or bigotry are met with whines that "Yanks are thin skinned". For purported masters of irony, the forum members here fail miserably at detecting irony in their own actions. Heaven forbid us riff-raff interrupt your fun.

Don't be ridiculous, nobody is saying that at all.

But you were getting a bit mental with the gatekeeping back there. This is a thread with British people who are interested in and enjoy watching the NFL. Not anyone making fun of it, or Americans. Jesus wept.

And Americans discussing soccer? ****ing bring it on, I love how popular the sport is getting out here.

You're right, I DON'T know you, and can therefore only deduct your 'nature' from your posts...those few I've been unfortunate to come across seem highly defensive, bordering on abusive towards British people who have the audacity to say anything remotely negative about the U.S.....

Yet, here Sultan & I sit, two Irishmen living IN the U.S, with MANY, MANY American friends & colleagues, most of whom are 'salt of the earth' type people. So why don't you drop the machine-gun there, Sam, and give us Brits some benefit of the doubt.... We have every right to criticise things that deserve to be criticised here, much as you would if you lived in the UK and found things over there to your distaste...(and I believe there IS a mirror site of this one, for Americans living in the UK, on which they do indeed complain about issues with life in Blighty....welcome to the real world.)

As for the NFL, whilst it will never even come close to real football for passion with us Brits, some of us enjoy it just fine... and I just happen to be the reigning office Fantasy NFL champion, having defeated all my Yank colleagues with ease last year... imagine that!
