Really - I've seen both and prefer BBC most of the time - sometimes a bit of topic but generally not too annoying.

And there's no additional fee. I also don't watch any other sports so would have to pay for the F1 channel as a stand alone

Not enthused by the NBC news. Actually I recently kind of lost interest in the whole F1 experience. Don't know why.

I happen to have an office overlooking the Indy St Pete GP, which is massive fun, but I don't follow the whole series.

edit. Oh - That was post # 1000 Idea for new thread.

Yes it's the off-topic bits of the BBC that pissed me off - like the ongoing three year running "gag" about Eddie Jordan's shirts.

And there was no additional fee for me fortunately, as I was already subscribing to Sky.

Hopefully they will keep Hobbsie, Machett and Varsa. I can't think of a US national they could use in place of David Hobbs and Steve Matchett who have their wealth of knowledge and experience.

Agreed.

looks like the race in NY is cancelled for 2013. Disapointing, but I can't say I'm too suprised, given the time of year and how much work there is still to do.

It's probably a good idea to wait until the race in Austin has proven the appetite for F1 in the USA before any more races get handed out. The European Grand Prix has now ended because we were told no more countries should have two races in a season.

True, though the two US races were so far apart (1800 miles or so?) that it should have been ok I think. That's further apart than most of the European races, I am pretty sure.

Lifted from another site..

In that distance from Silverstone, you can visit:
Spa (300 miles) Hockenheim (600 miles)
Monza (900 miles)
Monte Carlo (960 miles)
Catalunya (972 miles)
Budapest (1150 miles)
Valencia (1250 miles)
------------------------------------------------------

Interesting stuff.

I get what you're saying, but New Jersey is relatively close to an existing race in Montreal which immediately makes it less viable.

I expect the place will be full. But then again, so was Indianapolis.

Yes but Indy was $50, Austin is $159 for just general admission.

Yeah but those construction costs have to be recouped somehow. For comparison, I had tickets to a couple of events at the London 2012 Olympic Games and they were £65 and £150.

I have high hopes for Austin. The track layout, at least looks wonderful compared to the awful infield-hash up that they had at indie.
I think the NY venue could be good too, but with the weather drawing in, there is no way they would have it ready.

Renault have unveiled their 2014 V6

http://www.racecar-engineering.com/n...014-f1-engine/

Bernie and some others (Ferrari for one) are still pushing to keep the V8's. Seems they should nail it down soon or their could be a lot of expensive, spare engines kicking around.
