Default Lenovo Power Management Driver

My stepson has been using a refurbished Dell E6500 but he has something better now and I'm going to use the Dell for mucking about with.

I've been having a good old clean up on it and I notice via Revo Uninstaller that this is installed even though it's a Dell and not a Lenovo. It appears to have been installed at the refurbish stage.

What's it for?

THIS link may help explain.
I'm unable to say if this programe can run effectively on another platform, ie. Dell.
It could be useful to monitor your CPU activity which I believe on a pc is done through a Windows app 'Resource Monitor' or somesuch similar name, ('Activity Monitor' on a Mac).
If Lenovo Power Management Driver is a relatively small file, and using very liitle of your CPU resources, I'd be inclined to leave it installed. Removing some registry files can create all sorts of problems.
Others more informed than myself should be able to advise further.

Thanks for that. It doesn't appear significant and the laptop has been working quite well.

If it's not essential, AVG tune up (which I may install) may put it to sleep anyway.

Now all I need to do is see if the screen comes back to life as a few hours after I opened the thread, it may have died.

It went unbelievably dark, barely able to read anything.

It may be used for energy saving or battery life monitoring. It's not necessarily specific to Lenovo hardware.
