unless you are bajan, have citizenship or residency or plan to work illegally, you also need a work permit... just thought I'd let you know..

hummm.. that's interesting.. so you have a work permit, but you aren't coming here until September. which means that you didn't get it through an Employer...

My employers are British and have been moved to Barbados.
And they have issued me a work visa.
I don't no all the ins and outs but all I know is I have a working visa.
I appreciate your concern.
Have a lovely weekend.

Your Employers have been able to get a Work Permit for you for the job you do for them. It doesn't give you permission to then work doing any other job. If you now are applying for work elsewhere, that work visa would not cover you for that employ. It would only cover you for the work that is stated on your work permit.

Your advertisement sounds as though you are looking for full time employment.. so it's a new job, requiring new work permit.

I'm not trying to make trouble just trying to make sure you have what you need to be here and be here legally..

Hi Supernanny 19

I have to agree with Sunniebgi as thats what I have found when living in Barbados as a visitor and trying to find work. Im from the UK.

Are your employers who have got you the work permit, employing you as their nanny also? As that is the type of work I am looking for so I would like to know how they have got around that with immigration, as usually unless its a specialist skill that they cant fill with a local person, immigration wont grant you a permit. Have they managed to get it because you are qualified? Im curious as living and working in Barbados is what i REALLY want to do.

If you can help me at all I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

My Boss has been posted to Barbados he works for the high commison and as they chose to move his family they also offered me a visa as i have been with them for 3years and the children need the conistancy.

The reason I am posting here is because I am only working 3days a week and would like to fill up my week. However, I have filled up my week working for a local family.

Do you have any nanny experience, are you qualified?
To be honest if you are not qualified the chances are slim - however, you never know! Never give up!

Thanks for all your help.
