We are finally here after a 24 hour drive from Essex,we have just sorted the internet after 4 weeks we have made friends and learnt some more Italian,the people in gignano are really friendly and helpful, we have a few bits of furniture to move but lucky enough someone in the village has let us use a big storage room so we have a bit of time to make space, we will be starting on the house soon we just need our permissions and we will get going. I had better shut up now its just a novelty having internet again

Well, welcome from 'o nonno. Hope you have a really Buon Natale to start off your adventure in this madhouse that is modern Italy. At least Christmas is celebrated properly in small towns and villages, even if it is becoming ever more commercialised.

Now that is pretty impressive, We contacted Telecom Italia 3 months ago and we have been waiting for their 'technical man' to turn up to check if we can have braodband.

Amazingly he turned up on Friday, the 'technical man' checked that our house existed, ask us if we had a telephone and then told us we will have internet in 20 days. That of course is 20 Italian days so with any luck we might have internet before the summer.

Welcome to Italy, I hope you brought plenty of bacon and your sense of humour.
