Watching Italian telly in the UK
Anyone know what the options are? Do you have to get Sky Italia and take the card there?

You USED to be able to get a subscription RAI. Don't know if you still can. For all the channels I don't know.

It was through UK SKY, but it was a long time ago. It was in the "other channels" bit - it may even have been when sky was analogue not digital come to think of it! You clicked on the link and rang the number to subscribe. Ask duffer to check out what he has available on his UK Sky link - if it is still available he should be able to tell you.

Why would anybody want to watch Italian tv in the UK ?
My sister has normal Sky and although I haven't checked to see if other channels are available I know she can get RAI. Think it might only be RAI Uno though.

In fact I do have some of the Rai channels listed under Other Channels but I have never actually checked to see if they function. I will check it tonight.
Anyway, as Rai channels are broadcast free to air (FTA) all is needed is a satellite dish pointed in the correct direction.

My friend, who's Italian living in London, has confirmed he has all the Rai and all the Mediaset channels broadcasting off the Hotbird channel, i.e. the satellite off which Sky Italia is broadcasting.
If you've already got a decoder here in Italy then you can simply take it with you then using a bog standard sat dish in the UK aimed at Hotbird you'll get Italian TV.
