specialist currency companies ?
Hi all,
I need to transder funds from the UK to Italy on a monthly basis to cover bills etc. Just woundering what specialist UK currency companies you are using to do this? Looking to get a better rate than you get from a typical high street bank.

You could have a look at: http://www.fairfx.com
"I am a UK resident and at least 18 years old. *" Not much good for those of us that live outside the UK then.

As far as I understand, this company does not require UK residency for some of the currency exchange services it offers – just an association to a UK address. Tangerine0072000 wishes to transfer funds from a UK bank account, so as a UK bank account must be associated with a UK address, this requirement will automatically be met.

We have a UK bank account with a non-UK address (although we lived in UK at the time it was opened) and hifx also let me change my address to a non UK one.

That seems a bit curt Margaret M!

Just a thought on this topic I need to draw cash on a weekly basis from my UK bank, I use a Halifax credit card to do this and clear the balance monthly from my Barclays account it costs me £1.50 per transaction Barclays were charging over £9.00 per transaction. Also the exchange rate I get is good. I know not exactly relevant.

I use The Foremost Currency Group for all my clients and its a fantastic service. They give you 3 days fixed spot rate, and its a local CHAPS transfer in the UK. Ask me if you want contact details.

I have just opened an account with Moneycorp and I can do everything online - quick and easy. All I needed to send them by email was a copy of my passport and a utility bill to prove Italian address. Worth looking into.
