Sicily unnamed roads
We are looking at buying a Villa near Siracusa and have viewed it and been given the address by the estate agent (Who is one of the biggest in Sicily) but when we check the address on Google maps and our Sat nav it can't search for it or find it, we can find the street manually but when we click on it, it comes up as a unnamed road? Is this a normal thing in Sicily and will it cause us any problems with post etc any advice would be greatly appreciated.

From my experience, this is normal throughout Italy. The post, well... we have our GPS location as part of our Amazon address for deliveries here and I can honestly say it makes no difference whatsoever! Although I would give credit to the last 2 drivers that delivered in as much one did not call at all to find out where we lived and the other, only twice, but he did get to the end of the drive..

Perfectly normal. Find it on Google Earth instead

Assuming you have a postal service, and that is not guaranteed. Your other options are to get a casella postale at the PO - if they have any spare, or make other arrangements.

Thanks guys guess we will find out once we move over we have sent ourselves a letter to our Sicily address to see if it makes it over there by the time we get there to complete on the purchase of the villa in two weeks time! If not guess we will have to look into getting a casella postale which I'm guessing is like our UK PO box?
