Is this a wise tactic in view of some of Italy's, ahem, somewhat high spending on certain "institutions"?
May seem a bit off to quote my own post but seemed the most efficient way.

I see that this statement of Renzi's has now hit wider headlines:

BBC News - EU Commission head Juncker attacks UK and Italian PMs

I must say that to me it looks Renzi look like a particularly cynical player to the (home) gallery.

Obviously given the like population figures Italy/UK, the Italian criminals are 600% more efficient than the British. Come on Brits what are you waiting for, Sex, Drugs and Crime, JFDI. Get the numbers up so that the UK doesn't have to pay the 2.1 Billion to the EU. Better still get out of the EU and keep the naughty criminals out..................

Renzi taking a refresher course from his idol?

Anyone care to tell me how this was reported in Italy (if at all), particularly on TV?

Is he by any chance lined up for one of Fabio Fazio's interviews?

(though from what I've seen of old Fabio folk often go on his prog to flash a book cover and I'm not aware that La Blair is about to bless us with another one)

Sarah Varetta ( think that's her name) interviewed him for Sky. Can't tell you anymore. Didn't watch it.

Here's an article in the Corriere della Sera.

«Credo siano necessarie tre cose.

ah:

Thanks for that Sancho though a bit of a shock to the system this early in the morning.

Maybe it's the grumpy northerner in me but, to me, Renzi comes across as just a bit too keen to be liked in that clip. I'm all in favour of informality, but he still seems a bit over the top, even allowing for an Italian speaking English.

Unless I'm pissed from my 2 pints last night a very curious effect in that vid - as Renzi comes through the door his face appears to be a blanked canvas, only becoming Renzi as he emerges through the door. As if a stuttering robot rendering system couldn't decide if it was going to shape the blob into Renzi or Blair.

It would appear that the black economy now amounts to 91 Billion not the previously quoted 60, (Rai Tv 29/11) as against the UK's 10? Odd that the public debt which had disappeared from the ISTAT figures for July, August and September suddenly comes back in November having reduced by 30Billion for the third trimester!
