Language Test for residency
I understand that for residency I would be required to pass an A2 language test in Italian. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience of this?

Apparently it applies to EU Long Term Residence Permit so perhaps only non-EU at present but may apply to UK after Brexit?

Ah! Now that rings a bell that some Americans we know of had to take some kind of test which included reading out some topic they had to pick and write about. From what I recall it was a lot of work for the two of them, but they are still here, so guess they passed! Brexit, if/when it happens is still a long way off!

There is no language test in Italy for either EU permanent residenze or citizenship. Things might change if the 5star or Salvini get elected next year.

For permanente residence you would have to be here for 5 years, so hopefully some Italian would have been learnt.
