Hello expats. I know this thread has been done to death (have read them all), but thought I'd come here for help. Landed in Pescara just under a month ago, and since then have been battling with Pescara Comune re getting our (myself, wife and daughter) Certificato di Residenza (sp?). In that time I'm no further along despite having what I thought was required. Our situation:

My wife runs her own journalism business (i.e. employment).
We have bank documents proving sufficient funds (more than).
Fiscal codes.
Private Health Insurance.
A flat (with appropriate rental contract).

Yet after going round the houses (mostly with the anagrafe office) I'm now being told that we need to pay for Italian healthcare (through the Pescara ASL) first before they'll issue our certificato.

Does this sound right? Ugh. Any help much appreciated.

(Despite the headaches...we're loving being here...anyone else in Pescara?)

Oh this sounds so familiar but it's wrong !!! You have private health insurance right? That's sufficeint for the law.I have the whole decreto legge but can't seem to add it on here. If you send me your email through private message i can email it to you. The law is very clear don't let them mess with you
