There is a post from Oliver Partners.
http://www.oliverpartners.it/brexit-...zens-in-italy/
They are saying that the permanent residence permit in Italy will not be revoked after Brexit.

I thought the same thing as laws can change here as well as in the UK. Considering it is written by a law firm they must have reason to believe that the statement is correct.

Well, to be fair if you have permanent residence it wont be revoked. Its just that the Uk doesnt 'do' residence' so reciprocity cant be applied, as theres nothing reciprocal to reciprocate. If you see what I mean.

Reading what they are saying it seems to me it's actually written in Italian law that it can't be revoked, then again as stated, they change the laws here as more often than the government!

It cant be revoked, but EU citizens get permanent residence after 5 years, but not for non EU . and therein lies the rub.

... and the article is over a year old. Much has changed (or is it Nothing has changed? ) in the interim.

To mis-quote Baldrick "They have a cunning plan"

I was thinking it was July 2017.
Charlotte has made another later post in Feb 17 about UK citizens in Europe.
http://www.oliverpartners.it/alterna...tizens-europe/
It mentions the need for expats to demonstrate that they can pay for themselves.
