Health insurance
We now live in Italy andcare applying for Residency. Is it better to source our health insurance in Italy of from a UK company?
Any tips, recommendations welcome.
Many thanks

Re: Health insurance
We got ours through a local agent. We are with Cattolica. However we don’t have a Dr so are going to go to the USL office in Castiglione to see if we can pay into the Italian NHS.

Re: Health insurance
Hi - since asking this we've joined Cigna who do a Core cover that easily meet the requirments of the cover we've been told we need for our residency. We also don't have a GP as yet we've been here a year now and need to do this for practical, sensible reasons. My understanding is that while we are still in the EU after 5 years of residency with private health insurance we would then be entitled to tap in to the italian nhs.
Guess we have to see how that pans out after March 2019.

We had a quote from Cigna but found it too expensive. Am going to enquiry about paying into SSN as was a court case at European court last year where Italy said EU nationals were able to pay in
