Last saturday we picked 14 kg. of the big green olives-Ascolane, from 2 small trees.
I am off to the ferramenta to get some soda and some plastic containers for pickling them in salamoia. I am turning into a real Italian contadina.

I planted loads of daffodil bulbs so that I can be reminded of England in the Spring.

Lorna, you just reminded me, I have daffodils and tulips I brought from the UK still sitting in their nets in the cellar, must plant them soon.
Plenty of wallflower plants that seeded themselves.
Are you keeping them in tubs? I find growing them in tubs/pots is better than in the garden where the bulbs get eaten by mole/talpa.

Mostly in big tubs on the terrace, but I've put some in a window box for the kitchen window. Not sure if that's deep enough though, so we'll see.

I used to walk through a kind of half park / half monument garden to go to school and it was always full of masses and masses of bright yellow daffs. Lovely.
