Default Finding accommodation for 6 months in Milan

Hi,

I was hoping I could draw on the wealth of experience of this forum - I've searched as best I can on here, but couldn't find any exact answers to my question.

My partner and I are relocating to Milan for six months from September, as she will be studying a Masters there. We are looking for accommodation for this period, and from what I've read, we are better going the private/online route rather than via an estate agent for such a short period of time.

Are there any websites/other avenues people would recommend for finding this sort of "medium term" accommodation? We're looking for something of professional rather than student standard. I've found a few things on Spotahome and Airbnb, but was wondering if there were any less obvious sites it was worth looking at?

Any other advice on this would be gratefully received!

Thanks,
Tom

You might look at subito.it. There are plenty of private listings. You have to get moving because Italy shuts down for all of August.

Thanks for the tip! With some help from Google Translate, I've contacted a few people from there. Seems you get more for your money through subito.it (unsurprisingly), I guess the trade off is you are going direct so there's no middle-man e.g. AirBnB to help resolve any issues.

Have found a few promising leads on the other sites but will see if anyone from Subito replies today.

Thanks for the help!

You need to proceed with caution when handing over any money. I suspect not all the advertisers are honest.

Any contract over 30 days should be registered at the tax office, which has a cost, but protects you as a renter.

Yeah, that is my other concern with sites like that. I think it might be easier and worth the extra cost for me to go with AirBnB/similar, but no harm in seeing what comes back from there

Ah OK, would that include stuff like AirBnB or just private direct contracts?

Hello Tom,

Often I see accommodation advertised on the Milan International Group
