ENEL and change of account holder
At a meeting with our new landlord and the guy from the agency, to sign the contract, it was mentioned that we would be better having the utilities in our name as being non resident, the bills would be higher.
It was my understanding (with my poor Italian!) that the guy at the agency was going to sort that out for us when finishing off all the paperwork and registering whatever he has to register.
How do we find out if this has been done (other than asking the agency guy!) and roughly how long should it take? Would it show up online on their website?
Thank you.

A while back for us, but when we bought our agent sorted the transfer and we had a 13 page letter/contract from ENEL about a month after buying. This was sent back with the 5 signatures we had to put on it and it then all happened quite quickly.

If the agent has contacted ENEL you will have a contract to sign and return. You should ask your agent for the registered rental contract anyway, which he had to dowithin 20 days of the signing. Ask him for the enel stuff as well.

The agent seems very efficient. We signed the rental contract about four days ago, so will pay him a visit soon, thank you.

Re: ENEL and change of account holder
Four days seems an unrealistic time scale for anything to happen here!
We were able to complete our contract arrangements by email with the help of our agent. Possibly took about 3-4 weeks although there was no confirmation from ENEL (fairly typical of all utilities and other things here) that the contract had been received or was being processed. We have had a bill and letter addressed to us so it seems to have worked!
