Consequences of overstaying 90days by U.K. national?

Consequences of overstaying 90days by U.K. national?
I have been in Italy for over 6months looking after a friends house and realise now that I should have informed the authorities after 90 day’s. I am wondering what the consequence of this will be as I want to be able to return to the U.K. and then return again to Italy to do much the same. Can someone kindly advise?

Yeah no real issue here. I lived here for two years without realising I had to do anything...
I did 'get a visit' and was saved by the fact my Italian wife came out to greet them but they were never intending to 'take me away' just a slap on the wrist with a get your behind in gear.
Sorted out my residency (After getting marriage certificate etc translated) within a few days. Problem solved.
Still might be worth talking to someone about permesso di soggiorno if you are planning to stay much longer.

Does anyone know how I apply for INA Assitalia health insurance (this is for my registration with the comune for long stay application.
