fantastic, I really don't feel right if I don't have Marmite, could be vitamin b12 as I am not a big meat eater, I should take a supplement but don't always remember, I have mates I used to work with coming to help me paint my house although I am doing a bit each day now

Does Marmite help with the B12 intake? Hubby is begining to think he is B12 deficient. We will be bringing stuff back for ourselves but I am sure a few jars of Marmite can't take that much room up.

it contains b12, B12 also called animal protein factor, I read deficiency is common in older people , B12 is a super thing anyway in the 60s a horse trainer got caught using it and banned , someone will remember his name I am sure, you can buy cytacon which is a b12 tonic, anyone who doubts marmite and people will snigger is try this test, 1 spoon of marmite and make a hot drink late at night you will not be able to sleep, it contains yeast like pro plus tablets and your brain will be in overdrive, but I like the taste!

CRUNCHIE BAR homemade
1/3 cup white sugar
2 tblsp golden syrup (possibly honey)
2 tsp water
1 tsp baking soda (bicarb)
favorite chocolate for covering
firstly grease a swiss roll tin or any flat baking tray.
mix the sugar, syrup and water over low heat in a reasonably big saucepan (when you add the baking soda it will bubble up quickly)
over low heat. stir until sugar has dissolved.
bring to the boil for 7-10 minutes, but being careful not to burn the mix.
remove from the heat and add baking soda and mix in !THE MIX WILL RISE FAST SO WATCH YOUR HANDS!
quickly pour mixture into greased tray (dont spread it out, just pour as even, or as rough, as you like) and leave to set, couple of hours
melt your chocolate in a bowl above boiled water.
break up set crunchie and dip into chocolate.
put on greaseproof paper to let chocolate harden.
ENJOY

My gran used to make this too and she also made delicious toffee. I'll have to ask my aunt if she knows the recipe.
