Of course, women aren't officially allowed to participate in the stoning. Although they can get away with it by wearing a false beard and putting on a deep voice. (Ps. Blessed are the cheese makers.)

One of the first people I met here was a flipping Jehovah's witness. I was so happy that someone stopped and allowed me to try out my new Italian that away I went telling her where I lived and everything.... before suddenly noticing that that was a bloody Watchtower she was taking out of her damn bag! My Italian then went down to zero. She kept coming to the house. I kept seeing her out and about. I tried to say that we weren't religious we were humanists (this doesn't work by the way. Say you are a religion and then stick to it!) She went on and on. They even found me a Watchtower in English! In the end I left a note on my gate basically saying 'B*gger off"' and she got the message. After that if I happened to run in into her I got a terse 'Buongiorno'. Suited me just fine.

How patronising of you to assume that I haven't already done so! In actual fact I haven't, as I've never even heard of it. But that's beside the point. Big nose.

That should've been intentionally as well....

It's a Sam Raimi production starring Lucy Lawless of Xena fame - also his production! Bearing in mind how much kudos he must have now through Spiderman he has really gone overboard with Spartacus, I know he did one of the original Zombie movies too didn't he? So combine comic book look, loads of blood and gore and Rome and that's Spartacus!!! Oh, and quite a lot of soft porn thrown in for good measure...Kind of 300 without the script...

Sam Raimi made the Evil Dead trilogy and is still considered as an indie film maker despite going on to direct Spiderman 3. One of the few directors who doesn't get criticized for selling out. Just compare Spiderman 2 to say Transformers 2. The former is one of the best superhero blockbusters ever, the latter is just toss.

Too true! I liked the first Transformer movie, but the second was bad...

If you ever watched Xena or Hercules you'll know what to expect with Spartacus, just not the laughs of the other two or not intentionally like I say, but more akin to them! Looks amazing though!!
